We have created this fair site to serve as a central hub for the 2022 Kurtz Bros Wellness Month. Virtual and in-person wellness events will take place from October 3 - October 28, following with open enrollment for benefit eligible employees.

Kurtz Bros leadership is appreciative of the daily efforts put forth across the organization to advance initiatives and assist in reaching goals for the business. Along with valuing your hard work, the health and wellbeing of our workforce is of equal value and importance. As a reflection of our dedication in this area, Kurtz Bros has coordinated our first-ever company wide Employee Wellness Month.
The Employee Wellness Month is designed to promote a healthy work environment and to support the adoption of habits that can assist in improving overall health and well-being of our employee base.
Through this month, Kurtz Bros employees can engage in activities, win prizes and receive educational resources from our various wellness partners and benefit carriers. Activities include a walking challenge, videos and webinars on trending wellness topics, activity contests, and more!

Overall Wellness
People often think about wellness in terms of physical health — nutrition, exercise, weight management, etc., but it is so much more.
Wellness is a full integration of various dimensions of wellness and is a complex interaction that leads to quality of life.
For the 2022 Wellness Month we will focus on physical, mental and financial wellness.
Physical
Physical wellness encompasses a variety of healthy behaviors including adequate exercise, proper nutrition and abstaining from harmful habits such as drug use and alcohol abuse.
It means learning about and identifying symptoms of disease, getting regular medical checkups, and protecting yourself from injuries and harm.
Developing such healthy habits today will not only add years to your life but will enhance the enjoyment and quality of those years.
Mental
A state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.
Notice how this definition says nothing about happiness. It’s also not defined as the absence of mental illness.
Rather, mental wellness means you are able to adequately cope with the stresses life throws at you, whether that be as simple as a work project or as complicated as a breakup.
It’s the balance between your emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental self.
Financial
Financial wellness is a state of financial well-being in which you can manage your bills and expenses, pay your debts, weather unexpected financial emergencies and plan for long-term financial goals such as building college funds and saving for retirement.
The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau defines financial wellness — also known as financial well-being — as “the feeling of having financial security and financial freedom of choice, in the present and when considering the future.”
